Frequently Asked Questions

VALENTINA SUITES LOCATION

Where is Valentina Suites located?

Valentina Suites is located in the heart of Pismo Beach, at the intersection of Price Street & Pismo Avenue, right across the street from Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant, and across from Pismo Bob’s. Pismo Beach, for those who aren’t familiar with the area, is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Why should I stay in Pismo Beach?

Pismo Beach is a classic California beach town with a thriving foodie culture and two, world-renowned surrounding wine regions (Edna Valley/SLO Coast and Paso Robles Wine Country). Pismo is more down to earth and welcoming than other coastal areas, and conveniently located in the middle of SLO CAL (San Luis Obispo County), allowing for easy day trips for wine tasting, kayaking in Avila Beach or Morro Bay, farm tours and agritourism experiences throughout the county, and boutique shopping up and down the coast.

Does Valentina Suites have its own wine bar?

Tastes of the Valley, located on the ground floor of Valentina Suites, is an independently owned wine bar with an amazing selection of local, regional and even international wine for you taste and purchase. Whether you like pinot noir, chardonnay, rose or merlot, come downstairs and have a glass among friends, and take home a bottle or case of your new favorite wine. The owners of Tastes of the Valley take great pride in their selection of world-class wines, and are excited to share their expertise with their customers.

THE VACATION RENTAL EXPERIENCE

Why should I stay in a Valentina vacation rental instead of a hotel room or hotel suite?

When you stay in a Valentina vacation rental, you are truly staying in a home away from home. Our floor plans include spacious living rooms, dining rooms, full gourmet kitchens, balconies in most suites, and a laundry room complete with a washer and dryer. If you prefer to stay in for a family dinner, you won’t be crowded together in tiny bedroom eating on a lumpy bed; you can stock up the fridge with whatever you need, and use the pots and pans and utensils that are provided to make a special meal. Or, if you’re not feeling like Julia Childs, you can head downstairs and enjoy one of Pismo Beach’s many fine restaurants, located within blocks of the Valentina Suites.

THE VALENTINA SUITES DIFFERENCE

Why does Valentina Suites have historical photos on the wall?

The owners of Valentina Suites take great pride in the history of this small town and the pioneers and trailblazers who made it what it is today. Each suite is dedicated to one of Pismo Beach’s movers and shakers, including: John Price, the founder of Pismo Beach; Frances Judkins, a pioneer of the local education system; Elizabeth Jatta, Pismo Beach’s first city clerk; Lucille Dias, who worked at and then ran the motel located at the present site of Valentina Suites; and Mattie Smyer, the most successful and well-known businesswoman in the area, and founder of Mattie’s Tavern which still exists under the F. McLintock banner. Old photos of these Pismo “luminaries” and of Pismo Beach dating back to the late 19th century adorn the walls of our suites, and tell the story of what makes Pismo Beach different from any other California beach town.
